One of the most serious challenges to someone’s independence is a progressive loss of physical and mental fitness. Starting at age 40, we begin to lose 1% of our muscle strength and our ability to remember things each year, accelerating to 1.5% per year at age 60. Between ages 50-70, this loss will increase to 30% or more of our physical strength. By age 75, a loss of 50% will not be uncommon.
The good news is that the progressive age related loss can be significantly reversed, prolonging our independence. Following the proper program will regain muscle mass, improve mental acuity, improve flexibility and slow down or reverse bone loss.
To accomplish this, we believe it is crucial to be engaged in a program that offers highly skilled fitness coaching and instruction.
